Baseball: The Woodlands falls to Klein Oak in tournament finale

Panther starting pitcher Tanner Lawson threw a complete game, allowing just one run and one hit over his seven innings of work in a 4-1 Klein Oak victory.

“(Lawson) did a great job out there,” Klein Oak coach Bo Hernandez said. “A pitcher’s job is to keep the batters off balance, and I think that’s what he did.

Klein Oak’s pitcher was close to delivering a shut out before Highlanders Lucas Jensen got home on a fielder’s choice that was hit by Chris Andritsos. The run scored, but a no-hitter was still possible until catcher Zach Gartner singled in the bottom of the seventh. click here for complete story
