Baseball: Fisbeck’s walk-off homer lifts College Park past Bryan Rudder

Just when the game looked to be over, and College Park had no chance for an impromptu comeback, Nate Fisbeck delivered.

With two strikes in the final at-bat of the game and a man on, the Cavaliers watched as Fisbeck sent a 2-run home run over the left field wall to win College Park’s first game of the Ferrell Classic over Bryan Rudder, 5-4 in six innings.

“I’m proud of the resiliency we showed, because that’s the kind of ball club I think we are,” College Park coach Jason Washburn said. “No bigger hit than what (Fisbeck’s) did to win it.”

The game started well for the Cavaliers, who were able to score two early runs off Ranger starter Brady Batten to take a 2-1 lead after the first. First baseman Rosevelt Henderson was the first to collect RBIs for College Park with a hit up the middle that got Noah Vaughan and starting pitcher Colin Cameron safely home.
