When a starting pitcher can throw a complete game in a winning effort, it’s a good day. When that same pitcher hits two home runs to drive in three RBIs, it’s even better.
Abby Langkamp did all of the above in a winning effort Friday for The Woodlands softball team in a 10-3 over crosstown rival College Park.
“She was very confident, she had great command of her pitches, and hitting wise, she’s been great all season,” said The Woodlands coach Richard Jorgensen. “She had another great outing tonight.”
The senior pitcher hit her first home run as part of a two-run third inning to give the Lady Highlanders (11-1, 2-1) a 5-0 lead. College Park starter Peyton Hutchens was roughed up by The Woodlands’ offense, giving up seven runs on nine hits while walking three. click here for complete story & photo gallery
