The Woodlands right-hander Chris Andritsos retired the final 11 batters he faced, guiding the Highlanders to a 4-0 victory over Conroe on Tuesday night.
Andritsos fired a two-hitter at Farrell Park at Elmore Field, helping The Woodlands (7-5-1, 1-0 in District 16-6A) bounce back from a rough weekend in Dallas. The Woodlands went 0-3-1 in tournament play in the Metroplex.
“We just haven’t been on the field much, and it showed in Dallas,” The Woodlands coach Ron Eastman said. “When Chris is on the mound, and we play good defense, we’re going to be in the game.”
Andritsos struck out 10 batters to remain unbeaten in three decisions. Right-hander John Waling turned in a strong effort for Conroe (3-8, 0-1), allowing four hits and one earned run in six innings. click here for complete story
