At the field where so many teams had seen their comeback efforts fall just short, it was Oak Ridge who had took care of The Woodlands in dramatic fashion, winning against their District 16-6A rivals 3-2 at Highlander Field on Tuesday.
Up by just one run in the bottom of the seventh, Oak Ridge starter Jessica Rodriguez almost had her solid outing undone, as Lady Highlander Aalyis Seneca led off with a double. The next batter, Kaitlyn Stavinoha, moved Seneca over with a sacrifice bunt. With one out, and a runner on third, it looked as though The Woodlands was about to tie the game at 3 apiece.
That was until Abby Langkamp hit a ground ball up the middle that was fielded cleanly and thrown to catcher Amanda Cunniff at home, who tagged pinch runner Kayla McCallum. click here for complete story
