When Abby Langkamp arrived on The Woodlands softball team in 2011-12, she had gargantuan shoes to fill. It is one thing to follow in the footsteps of a district MVP or even an all-state player. Langkamp’s task was bigger.
She was expected to perform well in the absence of pitcher Paige McDuffie – the reigning National Gatorade Player of the Year – a year after the UCLA signee led The Woodlands to state and national championships.
