College Park head coach Jason Washburn would take advantage of a District bye last Friday and call on his ace Beau Ridgeway for back to back District starts.
Beau Ridgeway’s 10 strikeouts were enough to push the Cavaliers past the Woodlands 4-2. The University of Texas commit Ridgeway, allowed 1 earned run, 4 hits and 4 walks for his first complete game District win.
The top of the 2nd saw The Woodlands take an early lead, 2-0. College Park went up for good in the bottom of the 2nd, scoring 3 runs on a 2-run home run by Fisbeck and an RBI single by Austin Stokes.
Kyle Flowers lasted 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out 1, and allowed 3 runs. Sophomore Devin Fontenot would be called on as the long reliever and did his best to change the outcome. Fontenot challenged College Park’s lineup, racking up 4 strikeouts. Fontenot allowed 1 earned run, 4 hits and 1 walk over 4 1/3 innings.
