It was an effort few could match, but The Woodlands’ Chris Andritsos is a baseball player few can emulate, and it showed during Wednesday’s home game against Atascocita.

The Oklahoma signee was in rare form, pitching nine innings and striking out 15 Eagles batters for the Highlanders, and hitting two home runs, including the game-winner in the  bottom of the 10th as The Woodlands downed the Eagles 4-3 in District 16-6A play.

“This team showed a lot being down early, and battling back,” Andritsos said. “It was a big win for us, to pull that one out.”

After being down three separate times, including falling behind 3-2 in the eighth, The Woodlands (7-6-1, 2-1) battled back to tie the game before Andritsos led the bottom of the 10th inning off. The senior teed off on a pitch from the Eagles’ Ralph Biondi, sending a fast ball over the left field wall and the Highlander fans home happy. click here for complete story
