
In a game of two evenly matched opponents, the Westfield Mustangs valiantly battled the Oak Ridge War Eagles, and came out on top of the bi-district playoff game with a 1-0 victory Thursday night at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
The game was so even, that neither team could take control of their opponent, and defenses reigned supreme until the 90th minute of action.
After an Oak Ridge defender was called for a handball just outside the box, Mustang Christopher Lieja passed the resulting free kick to nearby Cesar Nataren. The junior was able to find his target, Craig Curry with a cross that the senior tipped with the back of his head into the corner of the War Eagles goal as time expired at the first half of extra time. click here for complete story
