Several Dallas-area coaches would like to see March Madness become a part of high school soccer and have the UIL playoffs resemble the NCAA tournament.
But because Texas doesn’t seed its playoff teams like some states do, Final Four-worthy matchups will take place in the Round of 64 this week. Coppell, the state’s No. 1-ranked team, will be part of a Thursday girls doubleheader that includes Plano West, Hebron and Southlake Carroll. Those last three teams combined for three state championships and two state runner-up finishes the last three seasons.
