It was a promising start for The Woodlands in Day One of the District 16-6A golf championships on Monday at La Torretta Lake Resort.
The Woodlands’ boys set the pace over the course of the first 18 holes, with the Highlanders grabbing the early lead with a team score of 300. The Woodlands’ ‘B’ team, meanwhile, was seven strokes back in second place, three shots ahead of Kingwood. Conroe was in fourth place at 322.
The Woodlands girls also grabbed the first-round lead with a team score of 310. Kingwood was 11 shots back at 321, followed by The Woodlands ‘B’ team (322) and College Park (323).
