Oak Ridge’s Mia Hicks swept the girls’ shot put and discus events one last time Wednesday in the District 16-6A track and field championships at Turner Stadium.

Hicks edged Oak Ridge teammate Jennifer Rameriez to win the discus by less than three feet, getting off a winning effort of 128 feet, two inches. She held the lead throughout in the shot put and won that event with a throw of 42-2 1/2. Oak Ridge’s Kelsey Scibek (38-4 1/2) finished a strong second.
