Montgomery’s Hailee Cooper claimed the Region II-6A girls golf championship and the Lady Bears and The Woodlands both advanced to the state tournament on Thursday.

Cooper, a freshman, claimed the individual title with a two-day total of 135, helping her team to a third place finish at the tournament held at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club in Waco. The Lady Highlanders took second. Cooper shot a 69 on Thursday, giving her the best round of the day and breaking up a first round tie with Lake Travis’ Kaitlyn Papp. The two both shot 66 on the first day. click here for complete story
