The Woodlands has another regional champion.
The Highlanders’ boys water polo team beat Jersey Village 10-6 for the East Region III tournament title Saturday at Cy-Fair ISD’s FLEET Aquatic Center.
“It was a great matchup,” coach Kent Kirchner said.
“It started off a little tight and we got a pretty good lead, and then some players … got sent to the penalty box, and we were playing a man down, and they scored a couple times there and made it close again.
“Then, without 3 minutes to go, we pretty much had it well in control.”
Teams had to battle adverse weather conditions at the outdoor pool, where Friday’s game were pushed to Saturday morning. click here for complete story
