The Woodlands boys and girls swept the team titles at the Class 6A District 15-16 area meet last week at Turner Stadium. The boys held off Kingwood and Summer Creek, who tied for second.
“We had a really strong first day with our field events,” coach Juris Green said.
“In fact, all but one of our competitors who competed at the area in the field events qualified for the regional meet. … So after the first day we had 66 points, and we were about 43 up on second place, and we were just able to hold off all these other schools that are more sprint-type schools.”
