The Woodlands was digging the long ball on Thursday night.
The Lady Highlanders hit a pair of home runs in a 5-2 win over Montgomery in Game 1 of the Region II-6A bi-district playoffs.
“We hit the ball well tonight,” The Woodlands coach Richard Jorgensen said “We got some big hits from some girls that we expect big things from so that was fun to see.”
The Woodlands will play the Lady Bears again in Game 2 of the best-of-three series at 7 p.m. today at The Woodlands High School. The winner of the series will play Cedar Ridge or Buda Hays in the area around.
Shelby Dublin and Kelcy Leach hit home runs in the second and third innings respectively to nearly the exact same spot over the left-centerfield wall as the Lady Highlanders took a commanding 4-0 lead. click here for complete story
