Baseball: Oak Ridge up to 6th, Pearland 41st in latest baseball national rankings

86-00119Oak Ridge finished the regular baseball season with a single loss – a 3-2 setback to Klein Oak during the Wings-n-More Classic in early March.

The War Eagles take a 21-1 record into the playoffs, where they begin the Region II-6A road Thursday at home against Klein Oak. And they’ll start the postseason as the national’s sixth-ranked baseball team according to at least one national poll.

In this week’s MaxPreps Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings, Oak Ridge moved up a spot to sixth as the previous No. 1 lost. That team (St. Rita from Chicago) dropped to eighth in while the other seven all moved up one spot each, including new top team Lilburn Parkview (Ga.) and the top team from Texas – Dallas Jesuit – moving up to third. click here for complete story
