Boys Soccer: Burgos named 16-6A soccer MVP

Conroe junior Wilmer Burgos was named the District 16-6A soccer Most Valuable Player in voting of the league coaches.

Burgos helped lead Conroe to a 16-4-4 finish and playoff berth in coach Jack Richburg’s final season with the team. The Tigers went 8-2-2 in district play, second only to 16-6A champion The Woodlands, which finished 8-1-3.

The Woodlands had the league’s Offensive Player of the Year in Rafael Ortiz, a junior, and its Defensive Player of the Year in senior Taylor Burdette.

College Park’s Mike Wick was named the Goalkeeper of the Year. All four Conroe ISD teams advanced to the playoffs. click here for complete story
