Memorial Day, May 25th @ 4pm in Town Green Park, Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands, TX
Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer but most importantly it’s a day of remembrance for those who sacrificed so much and died serving our country so that we can enjoy our lives.
As you break out the BBQ and begin your three day weekend, consider attending the 1 hour dedication and unveiling of “The Way Home” project on Memorial Day, Monday May 25th at 4:00 pm in Town Green Park, Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands.
The Memorial Monument “The Way Home” project, is a Veteran’s Memorial modeled after two young men who were residents of The Woodlands area and gave their lives in defense of freedom.
The Memorial is dedicated to all active duty and veterans of all military branches and all conflicts. After many years of effort by so many in our community, the Memorial Monument is now complete. At its center is a bronzed sculpture in which one soldier is showing another the way home to heaven. These soldiers bear the likenesses of two South Montgomery Countynatives, Cory Kosters and Zachary Endsley. The two young men knew each other and died months apart in Iraq and Afghanistanin 2007.
Town Green Park on Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands is the site for the Memorial Monument. Please consider coming to this one hour dedication, bring your families, bring a Veteran.
“Memorial Day remains one of America’s most cherished patriotic observances. The spirit of this day has not changed; it remains a day to honor those who died defending our freedom and democracy”. – Doc Hastings
