A large contingent of local and area tennis players were ready to start their journey to earning a UIL state medal Tuesday morning.

Mother Nature had other ideas.

As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday rain was still saturating the courts at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

A notice on the tennis section of the UIL website stated matches were pushed back to 2 p.m. It marked the third delay of the day for the UIL’s two-day tournament, which is hosting all of the classifications — for the first time ever — on the campus of Texas A&M. click here for complete story
