A day after Kyle Gray hit a three-run homer to help Bowie edge The Woodlands, the Bulldogs used small ball Friday to advance to the Class 6A regional quarterfinals.

Kris Kuenning drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning that scored Mario Rivera and gave Bowie its second consecutive 3-2 victory over The Woodlands in an area-round playoff series. The Bulldogs (20-5) will face Pflugerville or Conroe Oak Ridge next week.

Dusty Torres led off Bowie’s eighth with an infield single. After a sacrifice, Joe Davis was intentionally walked. Kyle Gray then laid down a bunt, and Rivera beat the throw to third before Kuenning walked. click here for complete story
