NRG Stadium could be a step closer to hosting the University Interscholastic League’s football championship games, according to the league’s executive director.

Speaking at the Associated Press Sports Editors’ Southwest Region meeting Sunday, Dr. Charles Breit-haupt said NRG Stadium is the “front-runner” to land the 2015 state championship games, although he added talks still are ongoing with both the stadium in Houston and the Alamodome in San Antonio. click here for complete story
