Although no score was being kept as offensive and defensive players were swapped in and out constantly, The Woodlands Highlander football team still looked sharp in its 39th annual spring game at Woodforest Bank Stadium Wednesday.
“I told the kids I was proud of their effort,” said The Woodlands coach Mark Schmid. “Execution can always be better, and with what we’ve dealt with the last few days with the weather… I didn’t come out here expecting anything to be perfect, but I was happy with the effort.
“We need to take this experience and build on it… because the next time we step out on this field, it’s for real.”
The white team (offense) starters, led by quarterback Craig Heiser and running back Carlos Ramos, quickly marched their side against the green team (defense) in the game’s opening drive from the 30-yard line inside their opponent’s 20-yard line. click here for complete story
