Baseball: Feltman gets Game 1 start for Oak Ridge

At this point, Oak Ridge coach Mike Pirtle isn’t taking any chances.

He’ll start senior right-hander Durbin Feltman in Game 1 of the Region II-6A finals on Thursday night against Dallas Jesuit at Sam Houston State University. If the War Eagles (29-2) can win that game, they can close out the series with 6-foot-5 All-American Luken Baker on Friday night in Prosper, a Dallas suburb.

Oak Ridge has lost just one postseason game at this point, a Game 1 defeat at the hands of Rockwall in the regional semifinals. If the War Eagles can handle Jesuit in Huntsville, they’ll be one win away from the first state tournament appearance in school history. click here for complete story
