The Houston Astros selected two local products in the late rounds of the MLB Draft on Wednesday while the Philadelphia Phillies selected another.

Two collegiate players that are The Woodlands High School graduates were selected, along with Luken Baker of Oak Ridge.
Kevin McCanna, a 2012 graduate and a right-handed pitcher from Rice University went in the 13th round (388 overall) to the Astros while 2011 graduate Andrew Godail, a left-handed senior pitcher from Sam Houston State University, went in the 27th round (774) to the Phillies.
“Both are great kids,” TWHS coach Ron Eastman said of McCanna and Godail. “We were very blessed to have them in our system. I’ve been excited about watching them progress.”
