Track & Field: The Woodlands’ Piperi places second in shot put at New Balance Nationals

The Woodlands’ Adrian Piperi III threw a personal record in the shot put Saturday at the New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. Piperi’s heave of 66-10 inches of his fifth throw of the day beat his previous record by a foot and five inches. He finished second place out of the field of 30 throwers.

“It was awesome,” Piperi said of achieving his personal record. “I didn’t expect to throw that far.”

Across the country in Shoreline, Wash., Green had another one of his athletes competing.
