Volleyball: Leslie Madison leaves The Woodlands to become Magnolia’s head coach

Leslie Madison has emerged as one of Texas’ leading volleyball coaches after guiding The Woodlands to consecutive state titles in the last two seasons.

Now she’s off to Magnolia High School, where Madison will inherit a top-flight program left behind by former coach Terri Johnson.

Madison and her husband, former Texas A&M and TWHS defensive end Lonnie Madison, along with their three children, moved to Magnolia in 2013. Madison said the commute from her home to The Woodlands High School on Research Forest Drive was “usually 20-25 minutes.”

Now she’ll be working right down the road from her home the couple shares with their children Mallory (10), Morgan (8) and five-year-old son Case. Madison’s Lady Highlanders went 45-0 while winning the UIL Class 5A state championship in 2013, and they won the inaugural 6A title by defeating Clear Falls in four sets on Nov. 22 in Garland. click here for complete story
