Track & Field: Piperi sweeps disc, shot put USATF World Youth Trials

Tripp Piperi is officially approaching Michael Carter territory these days.

The Woodlands’ Adrian Piperi completed the sweep of the shot put and discus events on Wednesday in the USATF World Youth Trials in Napierville, Illinois.

Piperi, the 16-year-old shot put and discus star at The Woodlands High School, completed the sweep in those events on Wednesday in the USATF World Youth Trials in Napierville, Illinois.

“It was pretty cool,” Piperi said with a laugh.

Piperi, who is entering his junior year with the Highlanders, has now swept the shot put and discus events at the UIL Class 6A state track and field meet in Austin, the New Balance Nationals Track and Field Meet in Greensboro, North Carolina and now the World Youth Trials qualifying event in suburban Chicago. click here for complete story
