Three-time world surfing champion Mick Fanning was repeatedly punched an attacking shark and escaped unharmed during a competition in South Africa on Sunday, the entire event televised live by FOX Sports Australia.

The Australian surfer was struck by the shark from behind and knocked into the water as he sat on his board waiting his turn during the JBay Open in Jeffrey’s Bay in the Eastern Cape Province. The incident can be seen in the video above. click here for complete story
