Iowa State is motivated to win this season. Sure, Paul Rhoads is on the hot seat after finishing 0-9 in conference play in 2014, but there is more inspiration to their motivation than just keeping their coach around.
As soon as Rhoads took his seat for the morning press conference at Big 12 Media Days, he gave praise to Iowa State redshirt-junior defensive end Mitchell Meyers, a former standout of The Woodlands.
“I want to take this opportunity to talk about a young man by the name of Mitchell Meyers,” Rhoads said. “Mitchell was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma this past January. Since then, he’s gone on to receive six months of chemotherapy.”
