Being hired in May of 2014, Blair Greenwood didn’t have a lot of time to instill his philosophy on his new team at Atascocita High School prior to last season.

Finishing fifth in District 16-6A a year ago, Greenwood said the team worked hard in the offseason to get ready to make a playoff push in 2015. The Lady Eagles took that first step on Tuesday against Stafford with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-16) victory to open the year on a positive tone.

“We’ve had a full 12 months with this group, they’ve learned and worked hard, just bought in to what we’ve tried to teach and say,” Greenwood said. “Now we’re doing things at a level that we couldn’t achieve at some areas last year by the end of the season. We’ve started off doing things that we were just getting to at the end of 2014, which is exciting.”

In the opening set, Atascocita (1-0) and Stafford went point-for-point for a while until it was tied at 14 apiece. Stafford’s bench and fans were fired up. click here for complete story
