On Aug. 1, Deputy Vasquez, while on patrol in the area of New Trails and Research Forest, observed a vehicle with its hazard lights on at the intersection and stopped to see if they needed assistance. The driver stated the driver of the other vehicle at the intersection appeared to be asleep. Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Vasquez observed the driver, a 19-year-old female, to be slumped over the wheel with her foot on the break and the vehicle running.
After awakening the suspect, Deputy Vasquez noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s person and she was unable to maintain her balance when exiting the vehicle. After an investigation, the suspect was taken into custody, charged with driving while intoxicated, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
