Football: Senior core to lead Mustangs

18906.1 (1)The Kingwood High School football team will open the 2015 season on hopes that a solid group of 11 seniors, who made last year’s all-district team, can lead the Mustangs back to the playoffs.

Seven of those return from outstanding seasons on the offensive side of the football. In all, 15 starters return from the 2014 team that posted a 3-7 record, including a 2-4 mark in District 16-6A play that put Kingwood one game out of fourth place for the final playoff berth.

Mustangs head football coach Barry Campbell welcomes back a trio of skilled players on offense along with another three linemen and a tight end. Headlining that stellar senior seven is second team all-district Sewo Olonilua. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Olonilua is a TCU verbal commit as an outside linebacker, but LSU has also offered. click here for complete story
