Year Three of Robert Walker Era at Conroe began with a three-way scrimmage at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville on Friday night.

Walker, the Tigers’ football coach, liked what he saw from his defense against Huntsville and Lufkin. And Conroe will tee it up for real against Aldine Nimitz on Friday night at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium.

“Well, our offense didn’t move the ball real well at first,” Walker said. “Toward the end we got it rollin’ a little bit.”

The Tigers scrimmaged first against Huntsville, and then against Lufkin, the traditional Class 5A power that has produced the likes of the Cowboys’ Dez Bryant, Bucs fullback Jorvorskie Lane and Pro Football Hall of Famer Kenny Houston. click here for complete story
