With a mixture of youth and experience on its roster, Summer Creek hung right with quality competition during the Kingwood Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs going 3-2 during the two-day tournament, finishing with a pair of sweeps to claim fifth place out of the 12-team field.

“It’s pretty good, I think they have some great talent here again,” Summer Creek coach Tamika Newman said. “Pretty equivalent to what we have in district. We’ve never place this high and we’ve never played this late in the afternoon on Saturday. So we’re excited about that.”
