The Woodlands started the season with a boom, taking down Cy-Fair 28-7 to open the season.

The Highlanders broke open a 28-0 lead with three minutes remaining before giving up a late touchdown to Cy-Fair at Woodforest Bank Stadium on Friday.
“It’s awesome, anytime you can beat a really good team like cy fair it’s definitely a feather in your cap,” The Woodlands coach Mark Schmid said. “I loved our kids effort tonight—they played hard every snap. It wasn’t perfect, we still have some things to fix, but at the same time I like that we played with lights out effort and made big plays when we needed to.”
Cy-Fair outgained The Woodlands on the ground 118-89, but the Highlanders were superior in the air passing for 169 yards against Cy-Fair’s 58. click here for complete story
