Conroe coach Jeff Raymer has a philosophy when it comes to non-district games played early in the season. Whenever his team takes an “L,” he prefers to think of that letter as an abbreviation for “learn” rather than “loss.”

That mentality changes on Tuesday night as the Tigers (10-4) open District 16-6A play at 7 p.m. against The Woodlands (9-7) at Scotland Yard.
“We’re at the point in the year where the ‘W’s stands for wins, and the ‘L’s stand for losses,” Raymer said. “Ultimately, it’s a matter of putting it all on the line every pitch in order to get the outcome that you want.”
