TASO AWARDS 42K IN SCHOLARSHIPS
On Wednesday June 26, 2013 TASO-Houston Chapter of Baseball Umpires awarded 21 students each a $2000 scholarship from the proceeds of their annual tournament. The 2012 tournament featured 96 teams allowing $42,000 in scholarship monies to be awarded. Wednesday marked TASO-Houston Baseball Umpire’s 11th annual Awards Banquet where they now have handed out a total of nearly $500,000 in scholarship monies.
The 2013 tournament is expected to be 96 teams again and will be held September 5, thru September 8, 2013.
