When Bailey Brassard finished up Day 3 of The Woodlands High School’s Field of Dreams baseball camp last Wednesday, she found a nice, shady spot underneath the bleachers to cool down. The 10-year-old takes her baseball seriously, and the 94-degree heat, combined with a burning passion for the game, can take its toll. And although the heat might pose a temporary challenge, it doesn’t seem to bother Bailey.
Neither does the fact that she was only one of three girls at the camp. Bailey, who competed for ORWALL National in the 9-10 AA division this year, was at the camp for good reason: to show Highlanders coach Ron Eastman her skills and become a better player.
