College Park’s Nick Black broke off a 52-yard touchdown run less than 90 seconds into the Cavaliers’ non-district game with Huntsville on Friday night. The rest was just details.
Black carried the ball 20 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns, lifting College Park to a 30-7 victory over the Hornets.
“That’s what we need from Nick,” College Park coach Richard Carson said, “and in reality, that’s what we expect from him.”
Black had to take over at quarterback when starter Colton Farmer was sidelined with cramps in the third quarter. The Cavaliers (2-0) managed only three first downs after halftime and scored their only points when Luis Espinosa dropped the Hornets’ E.J. York in the end zone for a safety.
