Mike McGilvray, the head coach of The Woodlands High School’s 2000 state championship baseball team, will be inducted into the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Jan. 10, 2014 at the organization’s annual convention in Waco.
McGilvray’s high school coaching career spans more than 30 years, including stops at Waco, Richfield, Grand Prairie, The Woodlands, Lamar and currently College Park, where he is an assistant.
His career record as a head coach stands at 609-234, and he was named the Texas Sports Writers Association’s Coach of the Year in 2000.
