College Park is 3-0 for the second straight season. That’s another good start, but how does it compare to last year?
Strictly by the numbers, it’s a little better, and a little worse. Coach Richard Carson agrees. He says the Cavaliers’ defense and special teams play have shown improvement, while acknowledging their young offense is behind the curve and requires work.
“Overall, we’re probably ahead of where we were, but the good thing is we see lots of room for improvement,” Carson said. “We know we haven’t played as well as we can play.”
The Cavaliers are scoring 10 fewer points per game, from 38 points last year to 28 through three games. They’re also allowing 7.7 fewer points, from 18.7 to 11.
