
Kingwood knew Oak Ridge wasn’t an ordinary fourth-place team. The Lady Mustangs were well aware of the dangers posed by the No. 30 state-ranked Lady War Eagles and played like it, sweeping the Region II-5A bi-district match 25-18, 28-26, 25-21 at Humble High School on Tuesday.
“We knew they had a talented team,” Kingwood coach Ashley Earhart said. “They play in a tough district and have to play a high level of competition every night. We knew they were good and we stepped up to the challenge.”
