The Woodlands volleyball team set out to make history this season, and not only did the Lady Highlanders accomplish that, but they did so in the most impressive fashion: with perfection.
The Woodlands put an exclamation point on a 45-0 season on Saturday night at the Curtis Culwell Center with a 25-22, 26-24, 25-17 victory over San Antonio Churchill, claiming the Class 5A state championship in the process.
Churchill finished its season 47-3.
It marked the end of an extraordinary year for the Lady Highlanders, who captured their school’s first state volleyball title. The Woodlands became just the 18th undefeated state championship team in Texas since 1967. click here for complete story and additional photos
