The Oak Ridge War Eagles scored the first 20 points of the second-half en route to a 74-65 non-district win over Cypress Ridge at home Tuesday night.

“We talked at halftime about getting the lead up, so that some of the guys that don’t hardly get much playing time, get a chance to play. We still have a long way to go, we have to get better at limiting our turnovers and playing on-the-ball defense,” said War Eagle Head Coach Joe Price.

Oak Ridge (10-3) made their first nine shots of the third quarter, going on a 20-0 run, while holding Cy-Ridge scoreless for the first 5:09 of the second-half. The War Eagles run spurred a commanding 60-30 lead with 3:29 left in the third-quarter. Cy-Ridge scored on its next four possessions on a 9-2 run, but the deficit was too much to overcome for the Rams. Oak Ridge outscored the Rams 22-11 in the third period to take a 62-41 lead at the end of the third-quarter. click here for complete story
