With the Golden Globe Awards scheduled Sunday and next week’s Oscar nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards, entrepreneur Joe Newcomb, of The Woodlands, has a lot to be hopeful about. Founder of The Woodlands-based Truth Entertainment LLC, a movie production company, Newcomb’s company produced “The Dallas Buyers Club,” a feature film starring actors Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto and Jennifer Garner.

McConaughey and Leto were both nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a SAG Award, which will be aired Sunday and Jan. 18, respectively. The movie also received a SAG nomination for Best Ensemble Cast. The Writer’s Guild of America nominated the screenwriters Chris Borten and Melissa Wallach for Best Original Screenplay.
