When College Park senior forward Jayden Holden stepped to the free-throw line with 16 seconds on the clock, Cavaliers coach Clifton McNeely knew exactly what was going to happen.
Holden sank two shots to give College Park a 58-51 lead over Lufkin, the final points it needed to hold off the Panthers and come away with a 58-54 victory on Friday night.
“I knew he was going to knock down the shots,” McNeely said. “I just have confidence in all of these guys, especially my three seniors who have been with me for a while. They’ve been here. They’ve been through this. … If it’s one of those three (Holden, Tristen Newman or Keanu Andaya) they’re going to knock down the shots in crunch time — I just believe that.”
Those three seniors did quite a bit of the heavy lifting for the Cavs. Newman finished with a team-high 14 points and Holden and Andaya added 11 and 10, respectively. click here for complete story and additional photos
