Oak Ridge defeated Katy Taylor 2-1 in Brenham’s Select Cup on Thursday to give coach Gareth Glick his first War Eagles victory. The Mustangs scored on a penalty kick just before halftime, but Oak Ridge’s Mateo Ibranji and Alasdair McPhail responded with second-half goals.
McPhail assisted on the equalizer before taking a feed from Logan Aucoin for the winner with seven minutes remaining. The War Eagles (1-1-2) match up against North Crowley at 11 a.m. Friday.
