College Park enters this year with some extra motivation after barely being left out of the postseason in 2013. The Lady Cavaliers also have a new coach, Danna Rice, who is looking to help them get there. Before arriving at College Park, Rice was most recently at Fort Bend Elkins, but also spent 14 years Santa Fe. The Conroe native said she is excited about the opportunity she has at College Park.

“Anytime you go into a program, you have to learn about the girls — what upsets them, what makes them happy, what makes them work,” Rice said. “We’re still kind of young, but some of our seniors have been around for four years now, so it just takes getting used to them and them getting used to me.”

Senior outfielder Julie Charbonneau will lead the charge for the Lady Cavs, returning to the lineup after an all-county season in 2013. click here for the complete story
