The Woodlands quickly dispatched A&M Consolidated early Friday evening,
defeating the Lady Tigers 19-1 in a five-inning rout at Highlander Field. The game narrowly beat out the inclement weather that wreaked havoc on many other sporting events around the Houston area.
The Lady Highlanders hit six home runs in the contest — including three from freshman Kelcy Leach, two from junior Abby Langkamp and one from junior Aubrey Leach — on their way to their eighth District 14-5A victory of the season.
The Woodlands, ranked No. 5 in the state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, is now 24-2 overall and 8-0 in league play. With the loss, A&M Consolidated dropped to 11-15 overall and 1-7 in the loop. click here for complete story
